The Denver Water Board recently announced that it is upgrading the Hillcrest Water Storage Facility, which was constructed in the 1960s to provide water service to the residents of southeast Denver, including University Hills. Denver Water will make two main upgrades to the facility from 2016 to 2020 to ensure that water service continues to be reliable

The first project involves replacing the two existing water tanks with three more reliable ones that are less likely to leak. The second one involves upgrading the existing pumping stations by installing new, more modern equipment.
